Strength is the most fundamental aspect of fitness! Without it, you can’t move! These 3 programmes are ideal for those new to strength training and those stuck in a plateau.
I've been where you are now!
Stronger people are harder to kill and more useful to have around.
Strength will give you more confidence.
No other programme gets results as fast.
People Just Like You!
Yes! These programmes are also what we need to do to maintain good health and function throughout our lives so we can remain independent and helpful to our siblings.
There are risks associated with weight training, but there are also dangers of inactivity! Gradually lifting heavier weights with proper form is safe for most individuals. It’s important to start with a weight that is appropriate for you.
No, you will need access to a barbell, preferably an Olympic one, and enough weight to challenge yourself. Additionally, ensure you have sufficient space to train. Given these requirements, a gym membership is a more convenient option for most people.
Yes you can. However free weight are a more effective way to training and safer in the long run. Let me explain why:
Machines push you though their range of movement rather than yours.
Machines also isolate muscle groups. While great for bodybuilding to optimise strength we ideally want to load “normal” human movement and use as many muscles at once as possible. This insures our stabilizers get stronger not just the big show-off muscles.
For most people strength training 3 times a week is ideal working the whole body each time.
If you find you are NOT recovering before the next session you can still make progress reducing down to twice or even once a week.
Deadlift takes more out of you than any other exercise, so you may want to only do this once a week after the first month if it becomes hard to progress.
Yes, and not only that they are probably perfect for you.
All sport requires strength. With all other things being equal the stronger person will always win.
These programmes are brief and can be fitted in around most specific sports training protocols. Use them to get strong the use your sports training to provide the skills and conditioning elements.
That is up to you. Towards the end of the 6 weeks I will offer you a chance to join my mentorship programme at a discount, you can try one of my other programmes or you can walk away. (access to the app and downloadable file will cease after the 6-week programme if you leave so save them or print them off)
